How to plan a private jet charter

The route, schedule, passengers and cabin details to include in your first private jet enquiry.

Business aviation and private travel

Start with the complete journey

A useful private jet enquiry begins with more than two airport names. Include where you are starting on the ground, where you need to be after landing and the time you need to arrive. This gives the aircraft and airport discussion a practical purpose.

For a return flight, share both dates at the same time. If the trip has several stops, list them in order and include the time needed on the ground. Fixed appointments and flexible time windows should be identified separately.

Describe the group and the luggage

Provide the number of passengers on every sector, including any changes along the route. Add the number and approximate size of the bags. Sports equipment, pushchairs and unusually large items are best mentioned at the beginning.

A seat count does not describe a cabin completely. Think about whether you want a quiet space to work, a table for conversation or a layout that supports rest. Individual aircraft of the same model can have different interiors.

Compare the complete proposal

Before choosing, check the aircraft, airports, proposed times and the services included. Ask which arrangements are confirmed and which depend on availability or additional coordination. A clear proposal makes those distinctions understandable.

Discuss how changes are handled, including adjustments to passenger numbers, departure time or the route. If you have a specific arrival deadline, make sure it appears in the planning conversation rather than leaving it implicit.

Keep a simple flight brief

Bring the essentials together in one place: route, dates, passenger count, luggage, final destination and preferences. You can use our flight brief page to prepare and save that outline.

Explore our aircraft directory for model names and categories, then use the destination guides to think about the arrival. The final aircraft selection should follow the journey’s requirements.
